Chevy Unveils Game-Changing Electric SUV: Price & Release Date Inside
• Hot Trendy News
Chevrolet’s off-road pedigree is going electric with the introduction of the 2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss, a lifted, dual-motor 4WD pickup that lands in dealerships this summer. The new trim takes the popular Trail Boss formula—2-inch factory lift, 35-inch all-terrain tires, red tow hooks and high-angle approach fascia—and melds it with GM’s Ultium-based battery architecture for up to 478 miles of GM-estimated range or 410 miles EPA-rated on the extended pack.
Performance numbers are headline-ready: up to 725 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque, 12,500-lb max tow and 2,100-lb payload when equipped with the Max Range battery. Terrain-mode software sharpens four-wheel steering for tighter low-speed turns, while Sidewinder crab-walk capability carries over from the RST to help the Trail Boss shimmy through rocky trails or tight parking garages. A uniquely tuned coil suspension with hydraulic rebound control boosts ground clearance 24 percent versus the base Silverado EV, yielding a 31.6-degree approach and 25.1-degree departure angle for serious overlanding.
Chevy pairs the hardcore hardware with tech-forward conveniences: Super Cruise hands-free driving (now with Google Maps lane guidance), adaptive cruise that automatically matches posted speed limits, and a 17.7-inch infotainment screen backed by an 11-inch digital cluster on every trim. Owners can power a work site or campsite with up to 10.2 kW of off-board power, and fast-charge capability up to 350 kW nets roughly 100 miles in 10 minutes.
Pricing starts at $72,095 for the extended-range Trail Boss and $88,695 for the Max Range configuration, both including destination. For shoppers cross-shopping the lineup, Chevy has trimmed the launch-edition RST and now fields three clear choices: Work Truck, LT and Trail Boss, with MSRPs beginning at $54,895 and ranges spanning 286 to 493 miles EPA.
Why it matters: the Trail Boss badge has been one of Chevy’s fastest-turning trims since debuting on the 2019 Silverado, and electrifying it gives bowtie loyalists a zero-emission alternative to Ford’s F-150 Lightning Flash and Rivian’s R1T Adventure. With stout towing, class-leading range and genuine trail chops, the 2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss positions Chevy to capture both traditional truck buyers and EV early adopters searching for off-grid capability without gasoline.
