Tour de France 2025 Route, Stages & Schedule: Dates, Key Climbs, and Star Riders Revealed
• Hot Trendy News
Cycling fans can start marking their calendars: the 112th Tour de France will run from 5–27 July 2025 across a completely French parcours that packs 3,338 km of racing, 52,500 m of vertical gain and headline-grabbing climbs from the Massif Central to the Alps. The Grand Départ in Lille Métropole opens three flat-to-rolling northern stages before the peloton swings west for a Normandy time trial in Caen (Stage 5) and a punchy double ascent of Mûr-de-Bretagne (Stage 7).
Week 2 lights the fireworks: Bastille Day delivers the race’s first summit finish atop the volcanic Puy de Sancy, while Stage 12 returns to the Pyrenean classic of Hautacam. A micro 10.9 km uphill TT to Peyragudes the next day could shuffle the GC before the historic Pau–Luchon-Superbagnères mountain marathon resurrects a route last raced in 1986.
After the second rest day, Mont Ventoux looms on Stage 16—its first appearance since 2023—followed by a Rhône-Alpes sprint in Valence. The decisive Alpine trilogy then hits Courchevel’s Col de la Loze (2,304 m, highest point of the Tour), a punchy 93 km blast to La Plagne, and a Jura finale from Nantua to Pontarlier that promises late ambushes. The traditional Champs-Élysées circuit crowns the winner on 27 July.
Early odds favor a renewed Pogacar–Vingegaard duel, but look for Remco Evenepoel to target the Caen ITT, French hopeful David Gaudu on Ventoux, and rising Australian climber Jay Vine on the Loze. With 7 flat, 6 hilly, 6 mountain stages and two contrasting time trials, pure climbers and aero specialists alike have clear victory paths.
Travel operators report strong demand for stages in Normandy and the Alps, so book hospitality packages soon, and remember that Lille, Toulouse and Montpellier host the rest-day media scrums. Full start lists drop in June; until then, riders are fine-tuning altitude blocks while fans binge replays of the 2024 edition.
Whether you’re chasing polka-dot selfies on roadside cols or streaming every kilometer on Peacock and France TV, Tour de France 2025 is shaping up as the summer’s must-watch endurance drama—and every twist of the route suggests it could be the most explosive edition in years.
