Sylvester Stallone’s Surprise New Project Revealed: What Fans Need to Know
• Hot Trendy News
Sylvester Stallone’s 2025 calendar is looking as action-packed as any of his movies. This week crews for Paramount’s hit series “Tulsa King” rolled into downtown Macon, Georgia, closing portions of Cherry and 2nd Streets from dawn till night as cameras rolled on season 3 of the crime drama that stars the legendary “Rocky” actor as mob capo Dwight “General” Manfredi. Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office kept traffic moving while local businesses like Fatty’s Pizza shut their doors to make way for filming, underscoring the economic punch Stallone‐led productions can deliver to host cities.
While the actor shoots his Taylor Sheridan–created series, the “Rambo” franchise he made famous is charging ahead on a new front. Millennium Media is shopping “John Rambo,” a Vietnam-era origin film, at the Cannes market with “Sisu” director Jalmari Helander attached and principal photography set for October in Thailand. Producers say Stallone is aware of the project and may yet cameo, but for now the focus is on introducing a younger take on the one-man army that has grossed more than $800 million worldwide since 1982.
Behind the scenes, Stallone is also sharpening his business strategy. In January he signed with Independent Artist Group in all areas, tasking the agency with supercharging Balboa Productions—the shingle behind the Netflix documentary “Sly” and the upcoming Jason Statham thriller “Working Man.” IAG chief Jim Osborne will leverage the firm’s booming media-rights division to funnel best-selling IP to Stallone’s slate.
The flurry of activity reinforces Stallone’s unique box-office record: he’s the only actor to headline a No. 1 film in six consecutive decades. With “Tulsa King” expanding his TV footprint, a fresh “Rambo” origin story stoking global curiosity, and a new agency deal primed to feed his producer ambitions, the 78-year-old icon shows no sign of going the distance—he’s already miles ahead.
