NZ vs IND Live Updates: Scorecard, Highlights & Result of Today’s World Cup Clash

Wellington, 27 Oct 2026 – India are on the brink of sealing the five-match T20I series after blasting 133/1 in just 7.1 overs in pursuit of New Zealand’s 198/3 at Hnry Stadium. Super-charged start • Abhishek Sharma smashed 113 from 38 balls, racing to fifty in 15 deliveries and reaching his fourth T20I hundred in only 35. His assault featured 9 fours and 11 sixes, powering India to a record 118/0 in the power-play, the highest six-over total ever recorded in men’s T20Is where full ball-by-ball data exists. • Debutant opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (45 off 19) complemented Sharma with audacious square-cut sixes, sharing a 133-run stand that left New Zealand’s attack shell-shocked. New Zealand’s innings Earlier, Daryl Mitchell’s 89* (52) and Finn Allen’s 40 (25) lifted the hosts to 198/3, but India’s seamers exploited Wellington’s long straight boundaries by going full; their 58 fuller-length balls travelled at only 8.58 RPO compared with 10.73 on shorter lengths. Axar Patel removed danger-man Glenn Phillips (17) with a sharp return catch, keeping New Zealand below the 210-plus score they seemed destined for. Series situation Having won in Christchurch and Dunedin, India lead 2-0 and need just 66 more runs from 77 balls tonight to clinch the series with two games to spare. A victory would extend their unbeaten T20I run in New Zealand to seven matches dating back to 2022. What’s next Match four shifts to Auckland’s Eden Park on 30 October, where short straight boundaries will please both batting line-ups. New Zealand must regroup quickly; otherwise, India could complete a rare overseas T20I whitewash.
