Jacob Misiorowski: The 100-MPH Pitching Phenom Every MLB Scout Is Talking About

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski has become the talk of October after turning a breakout regular season into must-see postseason theater. The 24-year-old flamethrower wrapped up the 2026 campaign at 16-5 with a league-leading 1.80 ERA, 252 strikeouts and a microscopic 0.80 WHIP, asserting himself as the National League’s ace of aces. Why everyone is searching for Misiorowski today • NLCS spotlight: Milwaukee opens the series tonight with Misiorowski on the mound, setting up a headline matchup against fellow power lefty Tarik Skubal. • Stat-sheet domination: He led MLB in ERA, strikeouts and opponents’ batting average, a triple crown for pitchers that hasn’t been accomplished in a decade. • Record heat: TrackMan consistently clocks his four-seamer at 100-102 mph, and he topped out at 103.4 mph in September—harder than any qualified starter this year. • Award buzz: Voters are already debating whether the 6'7", 201-pound Missouri native is a lock for the NL Cy Young or even a dark-horse MVP finalist. Path to Milwaukee stardom Drafted out of junior college in 2022, Misiorowski rocketed through the system and was named the Brewers’ Opening Day starter on March 26, 2026, against the Chicago White Sox—an early sign the front office believed he was ready to steer a contender. Since then, his slider-curveball combo has evolved from “intriguing” to “unfair,” generating a 40 % whiff rate that ranks first among NL starters. Key numbers that fuel the hype • 11.9 K/9: highest among pitchers with 150+ innings • 55.6 % ground-ball rate: insurance when hitters actually connect • 74 % first-pitch strike rate: establishes tempo and keeps walks (1.6 BB/9) in check • 5 double-digit strikeout games in his last 7 starts What’s next for “Miz” and the Brewers 1. Game 1 of the NLCS: A statement outing could position Milwaukee to seize early momentum. 2. Cy Young announcement in mid-November: Misiorowski is the betting favorite. 3. Possible contract extension talks: With two years of club control left, the Brewers may explore a long-term deal to anchor their rotation through the decade. Fan and fantasy fallout • Ticket prices at American Family Field spiked 26 % once Misiorowski was confirmed for Game 1. • In fantasy postseason formats, his two-start potential this series makes him a premium SP1. • Social media clips of his 3,000 rpm slider are driving millions of views on Instagram and TikTok, further boosting his national profile.
