ESPN Plus 2025: New Price, Live Sports Lineup & How to Subscribe
• Hot Trendy News
ESPN+ is getting its biggest shake-up since its 2018 debut, and subscribers should brace for higher prices, deeper bundles and thousands more live events.
What’s changing right now
• Beginning this week, the standard ESPN+ plan rises to $11.99 per month (or $119.99 annually), a $1 jump that Disney says will help fund expanded rights for college football, UFC, PGA Tour golf and La Liga soccer.
• Existing ESPN+ members are being migrated to the newly branded “ESPN Select,” which keeps the same catalog of 32,000-plus live events but folds in more 4K streams and an ad-free VOD library.
• A premium tier called “ESPN Unlimited” launches nationally on Thursday at $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year and adds every linear ESPN channel plus out-of-market NHL, MLB and NBA games, Formula 1 onboard cameras, and an alternate-camera “BetCast” for major events.
Why the price hike still saves money
Cord-cutters who combine ESPN Select with Disney+ and Hulu can pay as little as $16.99 a month in the new trio bundle—about 42 percent less than buying the services separately. Heavy sports fans who want Unlimited, Disney+ and Hulu can get the launch promo of $29.99 a month for the first year (regular $35.99) and cancel at any time, something cable never allowed.
Key sports coming to ESPN+ this fall
• College Football Playoff “Megacast” feeds
• Monday Night Football alternate broadcast with Peyton & Eli
• Entire UFC pay-per-view prelims plus exclusive fight cards
• 500+ NHL games, including every out-of-market matchup
• La Liga, Bundesliga and EFL Championship fixtures every weekend
• PGA Tour Live featured-group coverage and shot-tracer streams
How to upgrade or switch
1. Open the ESPN app or ESPN.com and log in.
2. Select “Manage My Plan” and choose ESPN Select (standard) or Unlimited (premium).
3. Confirm whether you want standalone service or a bundle that adds Disney+ and Hulu.
4. Billing changes take effect on your next renewal date; there are no long-term contracts.
What devices are supported
All ESPN+ compatible hardware—including Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Xbox, PlayStation, smart TVs from Samsung, LG and Vizio, plus iOS and Android mobile devices—will automatically update. For 4K streams you’ll need hardware that supports H.265/HEVC and a 25 Mbps connection.
The bigger streaming picture
Disney CEO Bob Iger has hinted that ESPN+ could be folded into an eventual “all-in-one” Disney super-app, but for now the company is leaning on aggressive bundles to keep churn down and average revenue per user up. Analysts expect ESPN+ to top 30 million U.S. subscribers by early 2026, fueled by the College Football Playoff’s expansion to 12 teams and a forthcoming NBA rights deal.
Bottom line
If you only need the occasional UFC card or SEC matchup, the $11.99 ESPN Select plan will suffice. If you’re a die-hard sports junkie yearning for every ESPN channel plus bonus camera angles, Unlimited at $29.99 a month is the first true cord-cutting alternative to a bloated cable package—and, thanks to flexible monthly billing, you can jump in for the playoffs and bow out after the trophy is raised.
