Live DTE Outage Map: Track Real-Time Power Cuts & Restoration Updates Across Michigan
• Hot Trendy News
More than 3,500 Metro Detroit homes and businesses are without electricity this morning, according to the live DTE outage map, which pinpoints 3,499 affected customers—nearly all of them in Macomb, Wayne and Oakland counties—out of the utility’s 2.27 million-customer network.
Macomb County is seeing the bulk of the trouble, with roughly 3,400 outages clustered along the M-53 and I-94 corridors. Wayne County reports fewer than 100 outages, while scattered pockets persist in Oakland and Ottawa counties. DTE crews attribute the latest interruptions to lingering ice on feeder lines combined with 30-mph wind gusts overnight.
How to use the DTE outage map
• Go to outage.dteenergy.com/map on any phone or computer.
• Enter your address or enable location services to view real-time status, crew assignments and the estimated restoration window, updated every 15 minutes.
• Click “Report Outage” on the same page or call 800-477-4747 to log a new loss of power.
DTE reminds residents to stay at least 25 feet away from any downed wire and to assume every line is live and dangerous. If you rely on medical equipment, move to a location with backup power or contact 911 if necessary.
Restoration outlook
Most customers should have service back by late afternoon, with hardest-hit Macomb circuits projected for 6 p.m. completion, weather permitting. DTE warns that new wind bursts could extend repairs or create fresh outages.
What to do while you wait
• Unplug sensitive electronics to avoid a surge when power returns.
• Keep refrigerator and freezer doors shut; food stays safe about four hours in an unopened fridge.
• Never run generators indoors; place them at least 20 feet from windows.
• Use flashlights instead of candles to reduce fire risk.
Statewide context
Across Michigan, 3,552 customers are in the dark—just 0.07 percent of the state’s 5 million tracked meters—but DTE accounts for the vast majority of those outages. Consumers Energy reports only a few dozen customers offline.
Bookmark the DTE outage map and enable text alerts in your online account to receive automatic updates the moment your circuit’s status changes. Staying informed—and steering clear of downed lines—remains the fastest path to a safe restoration for everyone on the grid.
