Dolly Parton Just Voted America’s #1 Dream Icon—See Why Everyone Agrees
• Hot Trendy News
Country music icon Dolly Parton is riding a fresh wave of momentum in 2026—scoring a chart-bound single, collecting a major lifetime honor, and expanding her brand from the symphony hall to the fashion runway.
Parton’s latest recording, “Son of Jolene,” a playful sequel to her 1973 classic, rocketed onto U.K. download and streaming charts this week after the 80-year-old teamed with rising Nashville singer Belles on the duet, drawing instant comparisons to the original hit. Early data from U.S. country radio indicates the track will debut inside the Top 30 of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, giving Parton her highest opening in more than a decade.
The good news kept rolling when the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville presented Parton with its sold-out Industry Icon Award on April 29. Keith Urban headlined an all-star tribute that covered five decades of her songwriting, with a surprise finale sing-along of “9 to 5” bringing the crowd to its feet.
Fans will soon hear those hits in a completely different setting. “Threads: My Songs in Symphony,” the multimedia orchestral program that premiered last year, adds new 2026 dates beginning April 28 with the Eugene Symphony before rolling to additional U.S. cities through the summer. Parton will appear virtually on large screens, narrating the stories behind each piece while the orchestra performs newly commissioned arrangements.
Offstage, the superstar’s third “Joleans” denim collection with Khloé Kardashian’s Good American label hit digital shelves on April 2, featuring flared jeans inspired by her Smoky Mountain roots and inclusive sizing from 00–32 plus. Early drops sold out in under an hour, prompting the brand to confirm a restock later this month.
Parton also kicked off Dollywood’s 2026 season in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, unveiling a high-speed family coaster while candidly acknowledging she has scaled back full-length touring to prioritize her health after last year’s kidney-stone scare.
With a new hit single, industry accolades, a growing fashion empire, and an innovative symphonic tour, Dolly Parton proves once again that her creative engine shows no signs of slowing—ensuring that “the Backwoods Barbie” remains center stage for generations of fans clicking, streaming, and lining up to catch every new chapter of her storied career.
