Cincinnati Weather Alert: Hour-by-Hour Forecast, Storm Warnings & What to Expect Today
• Hot Trendy News
Cincinnati faces a volatile stretch of spring weather, with a round of strong to severe thunderstorms rolling across the metro late Monday and another soaking system queued up for mid-week.
The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Wilmington says a broken line of storms will track east of I-65 into the Queen City between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. Monday night. Wind gusts up to 40 mph, torrential downpours and pockets of quarter-size hail are possible, especially west of I-75 where the air is most unstable. WLWT meteorologists have declared an Impact Day, noting a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for most counties until 4 a.m. and a Flash Flood Warning for parts of Carroll, Gallatin, Owen and Switzerland counties south of the Ohio River.
Expect loud thunder, frequent lightning and localized street flooding during the overnight commute. Secure patio furniture, keep phones charged and avoid driving through water-covered roads.
After daybreak Tuesday, skies briefly turn mostly sunny and unseasonably hot. Highs are forecast to flirt with 91 °F—close to a daily record—before a stronger cold front barrels in Tuesday night. The NWS gives that second round a 90 percent chance of rain with another half-inch possible, followed by widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms Wednesday.
Chillier Canadian air settles in behind the mid-week front. Daytime highs tumble to the lower 70s Thursday, upper 60s Friday and mid-50s to near 60 °F for the weekend, perfect for Flying Pig activities but a shock after Tuesday’s heat. Overnight lows will dip into the low 50s, so plan layers for early starts.
7-Day Snapshot
• Monday night: Storms, 71 °F low, gusts 40 mph.
• Tuesday: Partly sunny, 91 °F high; storms late.
• Wednesday: 75 °F high, 90 % chance of rain.
• Thursday: Partly sunny, 71 °F.
• Friday: Rain and thunderstorms, 77 °F.
• Saturday: Storms likely, 81 °F.
• Sunday: Scattered storms, 84 °F; early Memorial Day outlook calls for 85 °F with spotty afternoon showers.
Weather-ready tips
1. Download a trusted radar app and enable wireless emergency alerts.
2. Park vehicles away from large trees; loose limbs may snap in strong winds.
3. Clean gutters and storm drains to reduce flash-flood risk.
4. If you hear thunder, move indoors; lightning can strike 10 miles from the core of a storm.
Stay tuned to NWS bulletins and local media for real-time updates as Cincinnati rides out an active, and at times severe, week of spring weather.
