Candace Owens’ Latest Comments Ignite Social Media Firestorm
• Hot Trendy News
Conservative fire-brand Candace Owens has ignited a fresh storm on social media after alleging that every archived episode of “The Charlie Kirk Show” has been “quietly deleted” from Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube—an action she squarely blames on Erika Kirk, the late Charlie Kirk’s widow and the new CEO of Turning Point USA (TPUSA).
Owens told her 4.8 million X followers that listeners who asked TPUSA about the missing catalog were given a “platform-handling” excuse, which she dismissed as implausible. While full back catalogs have vanished from the three tech giants, partial libraries remain on Rumble and TPUSA’s own site, leaving unanswered whether the takedown was a rights-management decision, a contractual lapse or an intentional purge directed by the organization’s new leadership. Neither TPUSA nor the platforms have issued a detailed explanation as of Monday afternoon.
The podcast flap is only the latest front in a widening feud between Owens and TPUSA. Earlier this month she branded the group’s Super Bowl “All-American Halftime Show” a “fabricated stunt,” accusing TPUSA of inflating its live-viewer count of 5.2 million and even filming segments on a Georgia soundstage with a paid crowd. TPUSA has not publicly addressed the claim, but supporters circulated screenshots purportedly showing internal analytics that contradict Owens’s numbers.
Owens’s relationship with TPUSA has been rocky since she exited the organization’s communication post in 2019 amid backlash over controversial comments. Her skepticism intensified after Charlie Kirk was assassinated in September 2025, when she floated unverified theories about Israeli involvement and donor influence—ideas Erika Kirk called “hurtful conspiracies” in a televised town hall last fall.
For TPUSA, the stakes are high. In the six months since Erika Kirk assumed the helm, the group has been working to reassure donors and retain its massive campus footprint while mourning its founder. Insiders say the organization is eager to avoid internal spats that distract from a 2026 mid-term voter-registration drive. Yet Owens’s megaphone keeps pulling the nonprofit into the tabloid cycle, forcing right-wing influencers, donors and students to pick sides.
Political strategists note that Owens’s latest salvos come as she courts a bigger independent media presence after parting ways with The Daily Wire in 2024. “Keeping her name algorithmically hot is crucial to subscription growth,” says digital-branding analyst Rebecca Morales. “A public dust-up with a marquee conservative brand ensures continuous engagement.”
Legal experts warn, however, that Owens’s rhetoric could invite defamation suits if she cannot substantiate claims of fraud or coordinated censorship. Last year she faced litigation in France for false statements about First Lady Brigitte Macron’s identity, a case still winding through that country’s courts.
Meanwhile, frustrated Kirk sympathizers are urging TPUSA to go on offense. Conservative activist Laura Loomer tweeted Sunday that it’s “time Erika Kirk sues” Owens for “beyond depraved” remarks suggesting the widow should be “dragged into a police precinct.” TPUSA sources say leadership is weighing options but prefers not to elevate the dispute unless donor pressure spikes.
What’s next? Owens has vowed to release what she calls “irrefutable evidence” of internal sabotage during her Wednesday video monologue. TPUSA communications staffers insist the episode archive will be restored “once contractual housekeeping is complete,” though they declined to provide a timetable.
Until one side provides hard documentation—or a lawsuit forces discovery—the controversy is likely to smolder, keeping Candace Owens squarely at the center of conservative media chatter and guaranteeing that every new post trend-jacks her name back to the top of search results.
