Bruins vs. Sharks Live: Score Updates, Highlights, and How to Watch Tonight’s NHL Showdown

SAN JOSE, Calif. — The Boston Bruins defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-2 Tuesday night at SAP Center, tightening their grip on a crowded Atlantic Division race and sending a message to the rest of the NHL that their re-tooled blue line can generate offense as well as stop it. Fast start powers Boston • 1st period: Charlie McAvoy one-timed JJ Peterka’s point feed at 18:43, Jacob Trouba blasted a seeing-eye wrister at 15:29 and rookie Fraser Minten buried Casey Mittelstadt’s drop pass at 12:55, staking the Bruins to a 3-1 cushion before the crowd had settled. • San Jose answered on a power-play bullet from Ivar Stenberg, his first NHL goal, but Boston’s depth kept the pressure on. Momentum swing in the second Matthew Poitras tipped Mark Kastelic’s shot for the eventual game-winner at 8:42, and Pavel Zacha cashed in on a neutral-zone turnover with three seconds left in the frame, restoring a two-goal cushion that held the rest of the way. Goaltending duel Jeremy Swayman stopped 23 of 25 shots, flashing the glove on Igor Chernyshov’s late breakaway and improving to 4-1-0. Rookie Yaroslav Askarov, pressed into service for an ailing Kaapo Kähkönen, turned aside 13 of 17 but had little help on two deflections.
