Broncos vs Chargers Live Today: Score Updates, Key Injuries & Streaming Links for Week 5 Showdown

The Denver Broncos (2-2) travel to SoFi Stadium tonight looking to hand the Los Angeles Chargers (0-4) a fifth straight defeat and seize an early foothold in the tight AFC West race. Denver’s secondary took a hit hours before kickoff when All-Pro safety Talanoa Hufanga was downgraded to out with an ankle injury suffered late in the week. He joins rookie cornerback Riley Moss (hamstring) and wide-receiver Pat Bryant, who was moved to short-term injured reserve on Saturday. Head coach Sean Payton responded to the offensive inconsistency by retaking play-calling duties, saying the tempo “has to improve if we’re going to unlock Bo Nix’s full toolkit.” The rookie quarterback has protected the football—five touchdowns, zero interceptions—but Denver ranks just 23rd in red-zone efficiency. Expect more up-tempo looks and quick throws to Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy to jump-start drives. Protection remains the Chargers’ biggest concern: both starting offensive tackles are listed as doubtful, forcing backup pair Jamaree Caldwell and Foster Sarell to face a resurgent Denver pass rush that already boasts 14 sacks. If Baron Browning and Nik Bonitto collapse the edges, Justin Herbert may again lean on short timing routes to Keenan Allen and rookie Ladd McConkey. Key matchup to watch: Javonte Williams vs Derwin James in the box. When Williams tops 70 rushing yards, the Broncos are 6-1 under Payton; controlling early downs keeps Nix out of third-and-long and limits Herbert’s possessions. Bottom line: a win vaults Denver above .500 and, more importantly, ends a six-game divisional road skid. With Payton back on the headset and Hufanga sidelined, look for an aggressive, high-scoring script. Kickoff is 4:05 p.m. MT; stream on Paramount+ or listen locally on KOA 850 AM.
