Brock Rechsteiner Shocks NFL—WWE Legend Scott Steiner's Son Signs with New Orleans Saints
• Hot Trendy News
The New Orleans Saints have added extra muscle to their wide-receiver room by signing undrafted free agent Brock Rechsteiner following a standout rookie minicamp audition.
Rechsteiner, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound target from Jacksonville State, caught 53 passes for 629 yards and seven touchdowns across 37 collegiate games, showcasing a blend of physicality and straight-line speed that piqued the Saints’ interest. Coaches were particularly impressed by his contested-catch ability during the three-day minicamp, where he routinely won jump-ball drills against drafted defensive backs.
While the 23-year-old is new to the NFL, sports entertainment runs deep in his bloodline. Brock is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott “Big Poppa Pump” Steiner and the nephew of fellow Hall of Famer Rick Steiner, one half of the legendary Steiner Brothers tag team. His cousin Bron Breakker is currently rising through WWE’s ranks, but Brock has pressed pause on the family’s squared-circle legacy to chase a football dream first.
The Saints announced the signing on social media with Scott Steiner’s iconic catchphrase, “Holla if ya hear me,” a nod to the marketing buzz Rechsteiner is already generating among both NFL and pro-wrestling fans. That crossover appeal could translate into increased jersey sales and digital engagement for New Orleans, much like what happened when the team previously rostered viral sensations such as Taysom Hill.
On the field, Rechsteiner faces a crowded depth chart headlined by Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and A.T. Perry. Special-teams coordinator Darren Rizzi hinted that the rookie’s quickest path to a 53-man spot could come as a core gunner on punt coverage, an assignment well-suited to his wrestling-honed leverage and tackling skills.
Rechsteiner told local reporters he still trains on the mat with Breakker in the offseason but wants “to play football as long as I can before stepping through the ropes.” For now, the only ropes that matter are the ones marking the end zone at the Caesars Superdome, where the Saints hope his pedigree of power can convert red-zone fades into touchdowns.
If the former Gamecock can replicate his minicamp dominance when training camp opens in late July, Brock Rechsteiner might body-slam his way onto the active roster—and create one of the NFL’s most compelling storylines of the 2026 season.
