BMW iX3 2025 Release: Longer Range, Lower Price, and Tech Upgrades You Need to Know
• Hot Trendy News
BMW’s next-generation iX3 is just days away from its world premiere at the Munich Auto Show on 5 September 2025, marking the public debut of the brand-new Neue Klasse EV platform that will underpin a raft of future electric BMWs.
Reveal and Platform
The 2025 BMW iX3 switches from today’s CLAR-based conversion to BMW’s sixth-generation, EV-only architecture. Gen6 brings an 800-volt electrical system, 20 percent higher battery energy density, and compatibility with ultra-rapid DC charging up to 400 kW. BMW claims drivers will be able to add roughly 350 km of range in just 10 minutes at a high-power charger.
Battery, Motors and Range
Early test mules have hinted at headline figures of up to 800 km on the WLTP cycle and close to 900 km on China’s CLTC test, a massive leap over the current iX3’s 461 km best. Expect single- and dual-motor variants, with power outputs anticipated to start around 250 kW and rise past 400 kW in future M-Performance trims.
Exterior Design
Previewed by the Vision Neue Klasse X concept, the production SUV sports a sealed, illuminated kidney grille, slim LED DRLs that form an angled “X” signature, flush door handles and aero-optimised wheels. The body is slightly longer and wider than the outgoing model, liberating more cabin and cargo space while cutting drag.
Interior & Tech
Inside, the iX3 introduces BMW Operating System X running on a wrap-around Panoramic Display and 3D augmented-reality head-up display. A hexagonal steering wheel, sustainable recycled materials and Level 3-ready driver-assistance features underline BMW’s push for a high-tech, eco-friendly cockpit.
Competitive Set
With its claimed 800 km range and 10-minute top-ups, the iX3 is aimed squarely at the Audi Q6 e-tron, Mercedes-Benz GLC EV and Tesla Model Y Long Range. Gen6’s efficiency gains could give BMW a crucial advantage in charging speed and total cost of ownership.
Market Launch, Pricing and India Plans
Production begins in late 2025, with European deliveries following shortly afterward and US/Asian roll-outs in early 2026. Industry analysts forecast a starting price around €65,000 in Germany and roughly US $60,000 before incentives in North America. BMW has confirmed CKD assembly for India, targeting a showroom arrival in the first half of 2026.
Why It Matters
The 2025 BMW iX3 is more than a facelift—it inaugurates Neue Klasse technology that will cascade across the brand’s future EV lineup. Ultra-fast charging, long-distance range and a fresh digital experience position the iX3 to become a reference point in the premium electric-SUV space. Stay tuned on 5 September for full specifications, imagery and first impressions as BMW lifts the covers in Munich.
