Amy's Lentil Soup Recall: 184,000 Cans Pulled Over Spoilage Risk—Check Lot 60D0924 Now
• Hot Trendy News
Amy’s Kitchen has pulled 184,000 cans of its “Organic Lentil Soup – Light in Sodium” from store shelves nationwide after the company discovered a manufacturing defect that could let bacteria spoil the product over time.
What consumers need to know:
• Only one lot is affected—code 60D0924—with a best-by date of April 2027 printed on the top of the 14.5-ounce can.
• The soup was sold in at least 25 states, including California, Texas, Florida, New York and Washington, as well as parts of Canada.
• No illnesses have been reported, but Amy’s initiated the voluntary Class II recall “out of an abundance of caution” after internal tests flagged the can integrity issue.
How to check your pantry:
1. Look for “Organic Lentil Soup – Light in Sodium” with the lot code 60D0924.
2. Verify the April 2027 best-by date.
3. If you have an affected can, do not open or consume it.
Refund options:
Shoppers can return the product to the store of purchase for a full refund or contact Amy’s Kitchen consumer hotline at 1-800-643-0570 (Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. PT).
Why the defect matters:
A compromised seam can allow oxygen into the can, creating the perfect environment for mold or harmful microorganisms to grow long before the product’s printed date. Spoiled cans may appear swollen, leak liquid when opened, or emit an off odor; any of these signs mean the soup should be discarded immediately.
Food-safety takeaway:
Although most recalls never lead to illness, experts say dented or bulging cans of any brand should always be avoided. Keep pantry items in a cool, dry place and rotate stock so older products are used first.
